Deloitte’s annual Technology Trends report examines the ever-evolving landscape of technology put to practical business use. Deloitte has selected 10 trends that have the opportunity to impact business over the next 18 to 24 months. Deloitte's 5th Annual Tech Trends Report, called Inspiring Disruption (2014), looks at both disruptors and enablers. Last year's report, Elements of postdigital (2013), looked more deeply into the five forces of postdigital enterprise that were introduced last year: analytics, mobile, social, cloud and cyber.

Editor review:
Deloitte's 5th Annual Tech Trends Report, called Inspiring Disruption, actually looks at both disruptors and enablers. To single out one, Deloitte points to Industrialized Crowdsourcing, ie. somewhat more widespread enterprise adoption of skills from the outside. Review of the 2013 report: Deloitte’s annual Technology Trends report is a quite useful overview of trends that most insiders already know. However, it is quite well put and even though the referencing of sources are not up to academic standards, the report does have some footnotes from market research, popular media and industry examples to back it up. As is usually the case in branded, colorful industry reports, the methodology is not well explained. The report seems to be a result of a mix of primary research from interviews as well as secondary research from industry reports plus the views of Deloitte's internal experts.
