MIT's Future of the Grid study was a major contribution to the understanding of the future of electricity provision in the US as well as globally. A large multidisciplinary set of MIT professors as well as an active industry panel co-wrote the report. A major finding is that the US has a fragmented and often inconsistent policy regime.

Editor review:
The MIT Future of the Grid study is a milestone achievement which is core reading for anybody involved in US electricity provision, consulting, technology development, or regulation. The only challenge with studies like this is that once they are carried out, they are not updated. This study was finalized in 2011 and a lot has happened since.
Yegii Reviews:
This MIT report provides deep details and good visuals on electric grids in America; however, due to the publishing date (December 2011), the info is outdated and the predictions on the future of MIT’s grids may be inaccurate. This report should be primarily used for its facts and stats on electric grids. submitted by mack on Fri, 07/18/2014 - 13:47
